Brian Cosby has produced a simple, somewhat fictionalized biography of the great Puritan John Bunyan. It provides a good overview of Bunyan's life and the style is ideal for younger readers. I read the Kindle version and one annoying down side was that a new paragraph often introduced a rather abrupt change of subject or unexpected jump forward in the narrative. I'm not sure if the print version provided some sort of identifiable break in the narrative that let the reader know a change in the flow was about to happen, but the Kindle version did not. The book also gives the impression that Bunyan had the same beliefs about the Sabbath as did his fellow Puritans. Bunyan's treatise "Questions About the Nature and Perpetuity of the Sabbath" shows that his belief about the nature of the Sabbath in the New Covenant age was considerably different from that of contemporary Puritans. Otherwise this was a good easy read about the life of one of the Lord's most steadfast and faithful servants.
We used this book to help us understand the life and era that John Bunyan lived through. It gives good details of his life in an easy to read story. Great for ages 9-16.
Never knew the struggle this man went through for his beliefs. America needs to take note of this in lite of our presidents recent decisions.
