So far (I'm still reading it), I'm loving these miraculous stories! My public name says it all. And, you do not have to be a Christian to enjoy these stories! All of the major religions believe in God. Whether you call them "God Incidents", Coincidences or Miracles...It's all the same thing. But, like this author I don't believe in coincidences. Certainly, nothing as big as these are...the first story made me cry!

This was an amazing book to read. I was touched by the moving story regarding the death of a child - the perspective of thinking of it as a graduation of this persons child having accomplished her destiny to graduate to join GOD.Having to bury my only daughter. Two years later my mom (due to cancer) followed by my sisters death two yrs after my mom. This opened my eyes and heart of a different perspective of thinking - when I feel the loss of these very special people in my life.This book had stories to share the created an awakening of the way I have had moments of "Godwinks" in my life.I will be reading other "Godwinks" book having read this which was my first of them.. This book will touch one in ways they will not at first expect.. Yet will be grateful they took the time to read.

Book arrived in perfect condition and am reading it now. I have always believed as this author does and his book just confirmed my beliefs. I have also read his book "God Winks" and I, personally, have had so many "Winks" in my life that I can't count. I had one situation that was totally unbelievable by everyone who knows me.....a life altering set of events that I am seriously considering writing a book about my own experiences. You can't help but believe in God or a Higher Power after what I have experienced.Anyway, I love the book so far and recommend it to anyone who is searching for a plausible answer to our creation and being aware of the, so often ignored, directions we are given to live our lives as we should......according to God's plans for us individually.

This was recommended by a born again friend, though the principles put forth here can be found in many other contexts. I'm not a big fan of Christian lingo, but if you can get past that this is an enlightening and useful book, as it teaches what many have observed, that there is way too much coincidence to be coincidence. The author was president of children's programming at one of the networks, and he has a tendency toward the cutesey, so, if you don't like that and you don't like Christian phraseology then you've got two things to get past. But the stories he tells are inspiring. I found myself crying while reading the story of Emmanuel and Sandy Patti, which was a bit embarrassing as I was sitting in a doctor's waiting room at the time. But there is no doubt that following the principles taught in this book will make your life better, and that's what it's about.

I have read all of Squire Rushnell's books and I really felt this one was the best! I love his "real life" stories about how faith in God guided people's lives. So interesting to read about famous people and their struggles to the top and realize we are all the same. I especially liked how he tied in all the "heaven experiences" and pointed out how most seem to miraculously say the same thing. I am a devout Catholic and have always experienced God Winks as Squire refers to them and absolutly feel they have guided my life. The more you acknowledge them, the more you have the experiences. If you haven't read his other books, I would read them first, but I highly recommend Divine Alignment. Very uplifing and reassuring and such a confirmation on prayers answered.

This is an excellent account of the campaign against Jordan, Syria and Iraq and the PLO during the six day war in 1967. This account is focused on ground actions in East Jerusalem and to secure the Golan Heights. It includes the air attacks against the Jordanian, Syrian and Iraqi air forces which were decimated early on. At the time most of the Israeli ground combat equipment and aircraft were French made. There were also some modified M4 Sherman tanks and M3 half tracks from WWII which the Israelis modified. The account consists of mostly Israeli or UN pictures - very few from the Arab nations. Exception is the pre-war cartoons of the time from arab newspapers which foretold the doom of Israel which never occurred. While the war ended quickly and Israel gained access to east Jerusalem and the Golan Heights which overlooked northern Israel and are strategic in that sense.

Almost has too much detail. But it was thorough and confirms what I knew about the Arab soldiers when I was in the military.

This book is a good primer on the Six Day War between Israel and Jordan and Syria. The pictures and artwork are good. The only drawback to this book are the maps. Often the text refers to a place or objective that's not on any map. I would prefer more detailed maps so it would be easier to trace the troop movements. Another thing I would like to see is the use of 3-d graphics to better depict troop movements through built-up areas like Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, and the like. Often topography played a significant role during a battle. A foldout battle map would be idea.

I enjoyed reading this book. It presented a lot of good information on the various challenges and conditions that confronted the opponents engaged in this conflict in the Middle East. I really liked the art illustrations presented in this book. They really highlighted the battle scenarios being discussed.

The story follows teenaged Sophie recovering from drug addiction after her closest friend dies. It's a love story wrapped into a murder mystery. Though the mystery was good, it's overshadowed by the depth of love this young girl feels for her best friend Mina. Often torn between Mina's brother and Mina, Sophie waffles between the accident, which left her crippled, the addiction accompanying her pain, the loss of Mina, and solving her murder.Normally, I don't like to read homosexuality tales, probably because it's usually about the sex and not the love and also it doesn't really interest me. This story however skillfully crafts the deep feelings Sophie has not only for Mina but for her brother who was driving during the accident, which left her crippled. I really loved the emotional tension the author creates in this YA. A beautiful story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Far From You was a well written book and had me up into the late hours finishing it.I liked the character of Sophie, even though at times I felt like she was little dramatic. I couldn’t really relate to any of the characters because other than Sophie none of them had a real story.While the mystery of who did the first killing really didn’t take that long to figure out once a few pieces were put together. Boucing around between the past and present was a nice touch. But while I should have been getting an understanding of this grand relationship between Sophie and Mina I wasn’t. There back story was so chopped up it was hard to understand why they were even friends. Mina ended up being a self absorbed character. While it’s implied that she grew up in a religious home it’s never really shown with her actions. Other than the times they say she can’t share the secret because her mother is religious. Her mother is a character that has no lines in the book. Leaving to the imagination how religious this woman really is.the book put so much focus on this “relationship” that Sophie and Mina without really going into depth about it. The mystery didn’t take off, which left me feeling unsatisfied.The relationship between Trev and Sophie never developed the way I wanted it too. I understand why the author wrote the book the way she did and that Sophie needed to find herself in this whole mess.In the end the book fell flat for me. My need for a great mystery wasn’t satisfied and the love story wasn’t developed enough. Sophie still hasn’t worked out her issues and was continuing to bottle everything up.

Sophie Winters is a recovering addict who was sent to rehab after the murder of her best friend, Mina. Everyone, including Sophie's parents think that Mina's death was the result of a drug deal gone wrong, but it wasn't. Now Sophie has to deal with her over protective parents while at the same time trying to find out who killed Mina and trying to keep her and Mina's secret from Mina's brother, Trev.All in all, this is one of the best books I've read in a while. I love Sophie's narrative and the concept of the story is very good. I love how Tess Sharpe portrayed Sophie's addiction as well as how she became an addict and her recovery. It's all very believable and it's clear that she did her research. I also like how the chapters switch from the past to the present. It tells the story of Mina and Sophie while at the same time telling how Sophie is investigating Mina's death.One thing I didn't see coming is the romance between Sophie and Mina. Throughout half of the book, I thought that Trev would be the main love interest. But then we find out that Sophie and Mina had been in love, and then I quickly started rooting for their relationship, even though I knew Mina's fate.Another thing that I really liked is the fact that Sharpe didn't make Mina's ex-boyfriend, Kyle, an ass. At first I did hate him because he hindered the investigation of Mina's death by lying to the police about Sophie. But then he actually became a good guy and started helping Sophie out.This book does cover a lot of important subjects, such as murder and drug addiction, and sexuality. Mina didn't want to admit her feelings for Sophie because she was afraid to come out to her mother. But then, at the end, we find out from Kyle that the reason why Mina broke up with him was because Mina wanted to be with Sophie, and that Mina was in love with her. It was a very sad book, but it had a very peaceful ending. Mina got justice, and Sophie found peace. She's still sober, she's looking to take the year off before attending college.I highly recommend this book. It was amazing.

The Political Divide The author, Stephen Strang describes the Left/Right political divide in America in the past and since Trump was elected. The relentless negative and nasty attacks on Trump are noted and questioned. “For more than two years the media has conducted around the clock aerial bombing of the president’s character, motives and intelligence while ignoring and generally misrepresenting his accomplishments with the economy, jobs, taxes, foreign policy, the military and border security. The impression among a majority of the general public is that the media’s focus is predicated almost entirely on talking points and broadsides supplied by the DNC.”68The Media and Soros The media are aggressively anti-Trump because far left billionaires including George Soros “have been on a spending spree over the past fifteen years, buying newspapers, funding websites and creating a phalanx of nonprofit advocacy groups to promote ultraliberal policies and to undermine conservatives and their organizations.”112 These billionaires “have contributed more than 2.7 billion since 2000 to groups pushing abortion, climate change alarmism, and gun control and supporting a long list of liberal politicians. Soros alone has spent at least $52 million building a network of newspapers, news organizations and journalistic institutions.”112 Soros funds as many as two hundred hard left groups and a long list of anarchist and ultraliberal causes. MoveOn.org, Black Lives Matter and Planned Parenthood are Soros’ favorites.114-115 “Virtually all the organizations involved in the anti-Trump demonstrations that rocked New York and other cities in January 2017 had ties to Soros.”115 “Soros also had ties to more than fifty protest groups involved with the Women’s March on Washington, DC the day after Trump’s election.”115The Mueller investigation is ongoing and destructive. Congressman Louis Gohmert, former chief justice of the Twelfth Circuit Court of Appeals, published a detailed forty page report on Mueller. His report “lays out Mueller’s long and sordid history of illicitly targeting innocent people.”137 Read this book for example after example of this. “In a hearing on Paul Manafort’s case US District Court Judge T.S. Ellis III berated the government attorneys saying the case was false.”140 They didn’t care about Manafort; they only wanted to get to Trump and impeach him.Israel Moving the U. S. Embassy to Jerusalem had profound meaning to the Jewish people. Israel is threatened by the Palestinians and by Syria. An interesting one state solution is proposed by the Messianic Jews in the United States. “There would be one Jewish state – Israel- and the nearly one million Arabs who live in the West Bank would be given a financial incentive to voluntarily relocate to neighboring Arab countries, which would also be financially incentivized to receive and assist in resettling them.”201 Most of the Palestinians would love to accept this offer.At the back of the book is a six page list of things Donald Trump has achieved in his first 500 days in office. In one of the final chapters Strang points out that some of the changes Trump has made will last for decades.The book is indexed and has thirty-six pages of Endnotes. This book will reveal what the media doesn’t tell you and show you the many things Donald Trump has already accomplished.Best quote: Franklin Graham says Trump “defends the Christian faith more than any president in my lifetime.”206

Stephen Strang's book gives a well-documented, clear perspective of DT's many great accomplishments. For those only exposed to the mainstream media, there's little chance to hear how many positive changes have been made in such a short time to better American's lives. I'm grateful for a president who's not afraid of doing things in a different way without fear of the "deep state" backlash.

Unlike Strang's previous book which was very interesting especially concerning the spiritual "prophetic" aspects predicting Trump's victory and God's anointing as His man in our dark, difficult times, this book is nothing of such, only little information about the time after his inauguration until now with nothing at all as in the previous book. If you've keep up at all with conservative news and talk radio, then you too may be disappointed. Disappointed, because I learned little I didn't already know.

The amount of up to date information in this book is staggering. I was totally involved from the first page. I am amazed at the good President Trump has accomplished in so many areas and staggered at the intensity of those who want to destroy him.

Just finished reading this book. The book was very informative, not only on Fu Sheng but others (actors, directors and even location). He also gives you enough history to understand the synopsis of various films. My grandfather took my brothers ad sister every Sunday to see these movies and as an adult I have collected as many as I could. As a matter of fact, I was able to learn to comprehend the Mandarin language after years of watching these movies.I highly recommend this book for any Shaw Brothers movie fans and look forward to buying more as gifts for my family. Thank you to the author for his labor of love on this book.

The book is terrific. Full of fascinating details and background info I never knew, and the many years of research and recent interviews that the author did for this book are quite apparent when you read it. If you are a fan of Fu Sheng, Shaw Brothers, or kung fu films in general, you should definitely check it out.I have no idea what the guy who gave it one star is talking about. It's a wealth of info on Fu Sheng, and certainly not copied from Wikipedia! I happen to know for a fact that the author worked on this for 6 years and got info and photos that have never been heard or seen before. He interviewed family, friends and colleagues, and dispels a lot of the BS rumors that have been floating around on the internet for years. - Kung Fu Bob

This is very well written. It gives you a clear idea of Fu Sheng's life. It sets rumors straight. The last two chapters are the hardest to read as they deal with his death and life without him. The film Summaries at the end are a nice bonus. Terrance J. Brady does an excellent job with this book. I highly recommend it.

First off, the author used the wrong title for this book. Maybe at most about 25% of the book covers Fu Sheng. The rest of the book is like a bunch of info copied from Wikipedia and other movie data. He tried to talk about too much things that comes off choppy like many 70s Kung Fu movies. The little views in into Fu Sheng's life comes off like a poor man's Bruce Lee. Things like FS didn't like school, got into fights, etc.. there's no exciting things to learn on his life.Include a couple bad black n white poor uality copied photos.Not much more insight on Fu Sheng movies than what's seen in the movies...there's no real in depth interviews. Conclusion - better spent your time & money on the latest book on Bruce Lee. Bad, poor writing.

A great long awaited profile of one of HK Cinema's icons. Gone far too soon, Fu Sheng had potential that could've kept JC in the seat of a stuntman.

Though I have just dived in, this is the book for any Kung Fu film fan or Shaw Brothers fanatic. A few black and white pictures but many are rare off-set images.

I haven't read it yet but I must show my support for a actor I love and very happy a English language book is available and can't wait to get a copy. Thanks for doing this it was obviously a labor of love and Fu Sheng is a Legend and he was unfortunately cut down in his prime and would have been the biggest Kung Fu star nowadays I think if he would have lived. To fans of Fu Sheng this is a no brainier to grab this book and show some love for a legend.

I been waiting for this book for 6 years! this is a great tribute to Fu Sheng and his great legacy. This book is a true must for any real fan.

Without some of these borders I'd get lost for ideas after awhile - here are more than you can ever imagine using, and each one will line up so the border can be as long or short as you please, they even have corner elements show so you can 'turn the corner' without blowing it. From hard metal to wood, you'll find something here to please - and when used with other Dover Books, you can't go wrong! I do firearms engraving, but I've used them on belt buckles with exceptional results -- I bet wood engravers would find a good use for these Dover Books as well .

I appreciate the work that went into this design book, however, the 1,950 illustrations are comprised of the same design in an array of sizes.There are plenty of tile, rosette, scrolls and borders designs to choose from and is a great book for inspiration.Even though I rated it two stars, I still would consider purchasing this book.

This is an insightful and elegantly-written book about a period of time in American history where popular myth often trumps actual events. The author sets the record straight in a painstakingly-researched work, bolstered by expert prose which is extremely entertaining in its own right, greatly enhancing the interesting subject which it covers.I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a little more information and insight into many television firsts in the areas of politics, religion, and social affairs. Extremely enjoyable to read.

The author should take a bow. He has written a wonderfully balanced, anecdotal-rich account of the simultaneous evolution of the Cold War, TV and political culture in the Age of McCarthy (which is, in all too many ways, an age we are still in.) That the junior senator from the cheeshead state was a craven opportunist is as well known now as it was even then, but what he exploited via the new electronic medium was the pervasive fear that subversion lurked behind every vacuum tube as well as behind every State Department desk.

The premise of the book is that TV was both complicit in the rise of McCarthyism and also a prime contributor to its downfall. The author shows how the blacklist was established and enforced in both the movie and TV industries and yet was also consistently undermined by the force of public opinion. For example, the discussion of how Lucille Ball-the star of the top-rated TV show "I Love Lucy"-was able to overcome suspicions of communist ties showed how TV could generate its own dynamic more powerful than a political movement. Moreover, while McCarthyism was largely about enforcing conformity in all aspects of American life, TV's need to appeal to the broadest segment of consumers undercut this to some extent by showing groups that had previously been marginalized.At the same time, the book shows that McCarthyism-a phenomenon that was larger than the Senator-was truly sinister. The kinds of things that were considered "unAmerican" expanded to include incredibly innocuous things. Basically, anything that cast any doubt on the wisdom, honesty, or fairness of American government of business became verboten in the hysteria over Communist influence. At the same time, the author is fair enough to recognize that actual communism as practiced in Eastern Europe was a dangerous ideology that restricted human freedom.In addition to this book, I would also recommend "The Culture of the Cold War" by Stephen J. Whitfield, which is referenced in this book.

I'm an avid reader of this genre and this author is fast becoming my favorite! It's 1:25am as I've just completed the second book in the series. I just could not put it down. Glad I don't have work tomorrow (actually later). If you like action, intrigue, non vulgar entertaining novels, this is it. The author leaves you wanting more. The main character is a hero in every sense of the word and we could all use a few more of those. At least I could. Which is why I gravitate towards this genre to "escape" reality from time to time. Step aside Brandon Sanderson, Scott Lynch, Patrick Rothfuss, Brent Weeks et al.... make room for the next great Science Fantasy author. This was an awesome read. Can't wait for the next!!!!

The author portrayed women in this book in such a way that I can't help but feel he doesn't have much respect for women in general. They were depicted as extremely petulant, catty, and childish. It's a shame they were so one-dimensional as to be almost caricatures, because the rest of the story was enjoyable (which is why I gave it four stars.) But, if I had to read one more time about how the women batted their eyelashes or got into cat fights over the super handsome main character or the phrase, "I'm a warrior, not a healer!", I would've thrown my kindle at a wall.

Nope, sorry. Done with the series. I gave it two books and the writing never improved, he said mournfully.My suspension of disbelief was stretched so far the elastic is gone. Nineteen-year-old hero is a master-everything, has memorized the floorplans of all the major residences and the maps of all the towns, knows current events even though living 19 years in a fortress of solitude, and yet still believes *friends* are assigned by some metaphysical entity. He's a super-swordsman who can't be beat, and except for his literal interpretation of everyday usage, has no handicaps or fatal flaws.Head-hopping POV with every paragraph. Adverb abuse. A plot that made no sense. Leaps of logic. And, guess what, Our Hero may be royal blood. (That's not a spoiler because anyone who read the dust jacket could see that one coming.)A fun read for the kids maybe, but far from a polished effort by a student of the craft.

If you're reading reviews for "Reign of Madness," you've probably already read "Free the Darkness," the first book in the series.Well, this book is just as good as the first one. So if you enjoyed "Free the Darkness," stop reading and buy the book.Over Labor Day weekend I read the first book in 24 hours and enjoyed it so much I dove into the second one, which I also read in 24 hours. I couldn't put it down. The editing was solid. The author is not redefining the genre, but he is writing an enjoyable story. As I said in my review for "Free the Darkness," it's not "Lord of the Rings" or "Game of Thrones," but like the Fast and Furious franchise, it's a damn good ride.If I had to pick a theme for the story, it would be friendship. The main character, Rezkin, meets new friends and learns more about friendships, which is something he never had growing up. And many of the new characters were multi-dimensional enough to keep the story moving along.What I found disappointing were the female characters, especially Rezkin's relationship with his "Girl Friend," Frisha. In the second book, many of the female characters were one dimensional, including Frisha. Although Rezkin further developed as a charactor by learning about friendship, his relationship with Frisha is lacking. They share little alone time and Rezkin's feelings toward Frisha come across as more as if he is pursuing a marriage of convenience. I hope in book three the relationship becomes more personal and Rezkin begins to learn about love.Just with book one, my biggest complaint about the book is the abrupt ending. A better ending could have included a touching scene with Rezkin talking privately with Frisha.

Pros: it's an exciting story and unusual kind of main character. The development of Rezkin is fascinating, as he is coming to wrestle with his relationships in this. His off kilter view of the world entertains the whole way through, effectively deconstructing social norms. There's lots of action and interesting characters. The spec ops element to the strikers is fun.Cons: he's practically invincible and the best at everything still. Him being a tad more human would have helped with the suspense a bit. Additionally, some conversations repeat in a noticeable way, particularly when justifying Rezkin's actions in a morally tenuous situation. The author seems to need the reader to conclude that Rekzin is without fault at all times that he will address the same situation in two or more bits of dialogue to reinforce his perfection. It's a bit taxing, but then the pace of the book is too slow for a fantasy adventure such as it is.Overall, I appreciated the read and will be buying the 3rd.

I read a great deal. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this author, and I read few good reviews so I thought I'd give the series a shot. I don't think any review can truly describe how good this series truly is. It's full of action, but still amazing character development, and an incredible story. I cannot wait for the 3rd book!Give this series a try if you're looking for something new, and believe me you will not be disappointed.
